National Education Meet on Sustainability and Design

Aim:
To discuss and formulate guidelines for Education of Sustainability and Design in the present and future context.
Output:
A set of recommendations with regard to the content, stakeholders and methods of implementation with regard to Sustainability and Design.
National Sustianable Design Education Meet
The National Education Meet is meant to formulate guidelines for Sustainable Design Education in the present and future context. Designers being the creators of objects and services have a vital role to play in understanding the essentials of sustainability. The aim is to integrate suatinable prsctices as part of the curriculum.
A set of recommendations with regard to the following issues need to be formulated:
1.0 curriculum and content,
2.0 methods of learning sustainability
3.0 network and online resources issues in the context of sustainable design education.
4.0 introduction of sustainable design in school curriculum
6.0 open system of learning sustainable design for all
Participants:
Faculty members in charge of the academic programs from all the design related institutions in India and abroad.
IDC, IIT Bombay will provide free accommodation on the 4th evening and food during the educational design meet for the participants.
The stay can be extended for the duration of the International Design conference on the 6th and 7th of November 2009 by paying nominal charges (The rates are roughly Rs 500 per day for shared guest house accommodation).
Participation in the 'International Design Conference' requires registration for all.
